Quick Install Instructions
These instructions are general in nature, so be sure to review the owner’s manual for your computer for specific details that may affect the installation.

Start your computer normally. Before you install your new 3dfx 2D/3D accelerator card, we strongly suggest that you select the standard VGA display driver in Windows®. Please refer to your Windows documentation for instructions on selecting the standard VGA display driver.
Shut down your computer. Unplug your computer and open its case.
There are many different types of personal computers and different ways to open their cases. Refer to the instructions that came with your computer for details on opening its case, and what tools may be required.

Locate your monitor's cable and disconnect if from your current display card. |

Remove the screw securing the mounting bracket of your current video display card. Keep the screw you removed. |

Gently pull up on the video display card to remove it. |

If you purchased an AGP-based 3dfx 2D/3D accelerator card, locate the empty AGP slot for your new card. If you purchased a PCI-based 3dfx 2D/3D accelerator card, then locate an empty PCI slot for your new card. |

Insert your new 3dfx 2D/3D accelerator card into the AGP or PCI slot as identified in the previous step. Press down firmly on the points shown in the picture at the same time to ensure the card is fully inserted into the appropriate slot. Use the screw from the slot cover to secure your new 3dfx 2D/3D accelerator card's mounting bracket to the computer's case. |

Important Note: Voodoo5 Power!

Connect one of your computer's disk drive power supply cables to the Power Supply Connector on your new Voodoo5 card. Use the included Power Supply Y-cable, if necessary, to connect the card to one of the system's disk drives. |
Replace your computer's cover and plug in your computer's power cable.

Connect your monitor's cable to the Monitor Connector of your new 3dfx 2D/3D accelerator card. |

After you have installed your
new 3dfx Voodoo card, restart your computer and Windows will locate the new
hardware and prompt you to install the device drivers for it. Place
the 3dfx Installation CD in your CD-ROM drive and direct Windows to install the
drivers from the CD.
Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation of the new 3dfx display drivers. Remove the 3dfx Installation CD and restart your system when prompted.
After your system has restarted, place the 3dfx Installation CD in your CD-ROM drive again and the Quick Install software on the CD will open the Software Installation screen. This screen allows you to install 3dfx Tools, DirectX, and other included software. Select your software installation options and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation of the Voodoo card's software.
It is highly recommended that
you install 3dfx Tools for maximum control of the advanced features of your new
3dfx accelerator card.
Remove the 3dfx Installation CD from your CD-ROM drive and restart your system again when you are prompted to do so. This will complete the installation of your new 3dfx Voodoo 2D/3D accelerator card!
