3dfx VSA-100 Online Manual

The 3dfx Tools software is a powerful and flexible utility for controlling the 3D acceleration features and other display characteristics of your 3dfx Voodoo card. Explore the options listed below for more specific details.

NOTE: Some of the features and options described here may not be supported by your specific model of the Voodoo card.

Using 3dfx Tools

3dfx Tools has several different sets of controls for accessing the various features and options of your Voodoo card:

3dfx Tools Advanced Properties	-	Opened by clicking on the "Advanced..." button on the "Settings" page of the "Display Properties" dialog box. The 3dfx Tools "Advanced Properties" page are included there along with the standard "Advanced Properties" pages.
3dfx Hub	-	Opened by selecting "3dfx Hub" from the 3dfx Tools TaskMan icon's pop-up menu. Only the 3dfx Tools "Advanced Properties" page are arranged there without the standard "Advanced Properties" pages.
3dfx Tools Manager	-	Opened by double-clicking on the 3dfx Tools Manager icon in the Windows Control Panel.
3dfx Tools TaskMan icon	-	Located in the System Tray of your Windows Taskbar. Opens each time your system restarts if there is a check in the corresponding checkbox of the 3dfx Tools Manager.

Open the "Display Properties" dialog box, select the "Settings" tab, and then click on the "Advanced…" button to open the "3dfx VSA-100 Properties" dialog box. There will be some new tabs for the new pages in this dialog box for 3dfx Tools.

Right-click on the 3dfx Tools TaskMan icon in the System Tray of your Windows Taskbar and select one of the 3dfx Tools options from the menu.

To disable any of the 3dfx Tools and remove the corresponding 3dfx Tools page from the "3dfx Voodoo Properties" dialog box (and from the 3dfx Hub), simply open the Windows "Control Panel" and double-click on the "3dfx Tools manager" icon to open the "3dfx Tools Manager" control panel, shown here…

Remove the check from the checkbox beside the option you wish to disable and click on the "Apply" button. To restore that option’s page to the "3dfx Voodoo Properties" dialog box (and to the 3dfx Hub) and reactivate the option, simply place a check in the checkbox beside the option you wish to restore and click "Apply".

The checkbox below the list of options places the 3dfx Tools TaskMan icon in the System Tray section of your Windows Taskbar each time your system starts. Remove the check from this box to prevent the TaskMan icon from appearing in the System Tray.

Place the 3dfx Tools TaskMan icon in the System Tray section of your Windows Toolbar each time your system starts by checking the checkbox below the list of options shown in the 3dfx Tools Manager control panel. Remove the check from this box to prevent the TaskMan icon from appearing in the System Tray when your system restarts. You can also do this by selecting "Remove" from the 3dfx Tools TaskMan menu as described below.

Right-click on the 3dfx Tools TaskMan icon in the System Tray of your Windows Taskbar and select one of the 3dfx Tools options from the menu:

3dfx Hub - Opens the 3dfx Hub
Resolutions - Select a new display resolution or color-depth for your system to use
3dfx Tools Help - Opens the 3dfx Tools online Help system
Weblinks - Opens your web browser to www.3dfx.com or www.3dfxgamers.com
About - Shows the 3dfx Tools version and copyright information
Remove TaskMan - Removes the 3dfx Tools TaskMan icon from the System Tray and prevents it from appearing again when the system is restarted
Exit - Removes the 3dfx Tools TaskMan icon from the System Tray until the system is restarted

You can also double-click on the 3dfx Tools TaskMan icon to open the 3dfx Hub.
